Groundbreaking stuff is happening in the world of Virtual Reality, and one of the modern pioneers in this industry is the HTC, who had introduced HTC Vive Pro back in January at the CES 2018 conference held at Las Vegas, USA.
HTC Vive Pro features
HTC Vive Pro consists of dual-OLED displays neatly coupled with 2880×1600 pixels screen resolution. This higher resolution results in sharper texts, enhanced graphics and improved user experience for both general customers and professional gamers. Top it off with built-in high-performance guaranteeing headphones and an embedded audio amplifier and dual microphones with active noise cancellation.
The HTC Vive Pro is “elevated in every way…the best quality display and visual experience to the most discerning VR enthusiasts…” all at the price of $799. This marvel is now available for pre-order at Vive.com with shipments starting from April 5.
Compared to Vive HMD which consists a pair of wireless controllers, two base stations and earbuds in the classic retail box, the Vive Pro HMD will be shipped to its early buyers all on its own. This packaging will also contain a power adapter, Display Port cable, USB 3.0 cable, and mounting pad.
Speaking of the variations in design, the Vive Pro had a major redesign in its head-strap which balances the weight offset even more evenly and it also supports simple adjustment buttons for Vive users with glasses. Moreover, the HTC Vive Pro works with StreamVR Tracking 1.0 and 2.0!
Interestingly, all the pre-orders and normal orders placed before June 3 will also come with a free 6-month subscription to Viveport. Currently, the Viveport subscription costs only $6.99 but after March 22, 2018, that will change to $8.99
Vive OG Price Drop
Vive OG, on the other hand, had a price drop once again. For those who do not want the proverbial “pro specs” and features can get this VR headset for just $499 for the “full kit”.
