On March 8, 2018, Vivo killed all speculation of its upcoming V9 by announcing that the company’s flagship smartphone will arrive in the Indian smartphone market on March 27. But now we are learning that the arrival date has been preponed to March 23 instead.
After making an unexpected appearance on a billboard in Indonesia a month ago, the Chinese phone maker has revealed that they will hold a separate event in India where they will indulge further on pricing and availability to the world’s second-largest smartphone market.
As far as the phone’s specs are concerned, Vivo has not yet revealed anything officially. But what we do know is that the V9 will have a FullView display with a sleek futuristic design. Seeing at the past trends of V5 and V7 that had impressive selfie cameras, V9 is almost expected to uphold this tradition and present to its users something extraordinary. On the technical side, Vivo promises “powerful AI algorithms” to enhance its camera quality and overall smartphone performance.
Vivo V9 Display and Design
Although the manufacturer boasts of a bezel-less phone, the notch is clearly visible on top. Also, the bottom consists of a thin bezel, which could have been easily avoided, but oh well!
The rear end consists of a fingerprint scanner and vertically mounted dual cameras, which is a clear impersonation of the highly acclaimed iPhone X. Although V9 is said to come with a lot of AI improvements, an in-screen fingerprint sensor or the popular facial sensor would have been much nicer!
The bottom has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microUSB port accompanying an all-metal design.

In Indonesia, however, this beautiful iPhone X-like smartphone is costing IDR 4.999 or about $350. We suspect that this will be yet another budget phone with premium looks.
